Private, External or Outside Scholarships

A private, external or outside scholarship is a great way to help you fund your education debt-free! These scholarships come from sources other than Mizzou or a federal or state government. If you receive a private scholarship, please bring the check to 11 Jesse Hall, Columbia, MO 65211, or have it mailed there on your behalf. Be sure to include your Mizzou student number on any correspondence. If the check is made out to both you and the University of Missouri, you must sign the back of the check. If the check is made out only to you, you must sign the back of the check and write the following above your signature: “Pay to the order of the Curators of the University of Missouri.“

Dec. 1, 2026 - Scholarship deadline for first-time college students

Feb. 1, 2027 - Scholarship deadline for continuing & transfer students

Feb. 1, 2027 - FAFSA submission deadline
