A consortium agreement is a written agreement between Mizzou and another college or university (the host school) that allows eligible coursework taken at the host school to be considered along with a student’s Mizzou enrollment when determining financial aid eligibility.
Mizzou students may take courses at another postsecondary institution and have those credit hours considered for financial aid purposes if the courses are approved to transfer to Mizzou and will apply toward the student’s Mizzou degree. When all consortium agreement requirements are met, eligible credit hours taken at both institutions may be combined when determining financial aid eligibility.
Note: This information applies to degree-seeking Mizzou students who are taking courses at a host school while working toward a Mizzou degree. It does not apply to high school students participating in dual enrollment at Mizzou.
Consortium Agreements Process
- Mizzou students must be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours of courses at Mizzou.
- You must verify with your Mizzou Academic Advisor that your host school course(s) will transfer and count toward your degree.
- Complete the Consortium Agreement form with your Mizzou Academic Advisor and a financial officer at your host school.
- Return the completed form to Mizzou Student Financial Aid—be sure you have collected all the required signatures and documentation.
- Once your enrollment at the host school has been confirmed, Mizzou’s Office of the University Registrar will add the approved credit hours to your Mizzou enrollment. Any registration holds must be resolved before the host school credit hours can be added.
- Financial aid will be applied to your Mizzou bill. Once your Mizzou bill is paid in full, any remaining funds will be refunded to you. You can use your refund to pay your bill at the host school. You are solely responsible for paying your bill at both Mizzou and the host school.
Tiger Pathways
Tiger Pathways is a co-enrollment bridge program between Moberly Area Community College (MACC) and Mizzou that provides a pathway for students who were previously denied admission to Mizzou. While participating in the program, students are enrolled as degree-seeking students at MACC and non-degree-seeking students at Mizzou.
Financial aid for Tiger Pathways students is administered by MACC Financial Aid, not Mizzou Student Financial Aid. Students are encouraged to complete the FAFSA and include MACC’s school code (002491).
Mizzou financial aid and scholarships are not available to Tiger Pathways students while they participate in the program. Students may become eligible for Mizzou financial aid and scholarships after transferring to Mizzou as full-time, degree-seeking students, subject to applicable eligibility requirements.
Students who wish to use financial aid to help cover eligible costs at Mizzou must work with MACC Financial Aid to complete the required consortium agreement paperwork. Financial aid eligibility and award amounts vary, and students are responsible for ensuring they have sufficient resources to cover costs at both institutions. Completing a consortium agreement does not guarantee that financial aid will cover all expenses.
