ELPA: Certification Preparation Programs

The Department of Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis offers coursework and practical experiences leading to certification preparation approved through the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE). Two degree options are available:

Statewide Cooperative EdD Program

The Department of Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis, in collaboration with Missouri partner universities, offers a doctor of education (EdD) program to fulfill the needs of PK-12 and post-secondary educational leaders across the state. This professional degree is an advanced study in educational leadership for executive positions in public and private education and related fields.

Students in the Statewide Cooperative EdD program are dually enrolled at MU and a partner institution.

Financial aid procedures

Statewide Cooperative EdD students might pay educational tuition to MU, to the partner institution or to both institutions, depending upon enrollment during the session. To receive federal loans, complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) with MU’s school code: 002516. If you have granted eConsent on myZou, information about your loan eligibility will be e-mailed to you.

If you begin the program during the summer session, you must complete both the current academic year's FAFSA and the subsequent academic year's FAFSA. (Example: If you begin in summer 2011, you must complete the 2010-2011 FAFSA and the 2011-2012 FAFSA.)

  • Download the required form, and follow instructions for filling it out.
  • After you have received the required signatures and the MU equivalent of the non-MU course has been determined, the agreement form is returned to the Financial Aid Office.
  • Once your enrollment with the host institution has been confirmed, the Office of the University Registrar adds the credit hours to your enrollment for the session.
  • Financial aid is applied to your MU bill, and excess funds are refunded. It is your responsibility to make sure the host institution is paid.
